Keep what we love. Change what we need.
BARRETT ROTHE
for City Council
MY PRIORITIES
I want to help plan for a future Castle Pines that has more locally-owned businesses, a cohesive design, and leaves people impressed with our small town charm nestled next to the Rockies.
My primary motivation for running is a strong belief that we need more voices at the table for wildfire mitigation and readiness. I want to work with the City, metro districts, South Metro Fire, and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office to ensure we are doing more to mitigate existing wildfire risk and prepare for the worst case scenarios. That means more clearing of nearby hazards, educating citizens about how to live wildfire ready, and very thoughtful conversations about road closures during peak wildfire season.
As a father, I see a tremendous need for more traffic enforcement and speeding mitigation. Castle Pines has taken a great first step by obtaining a dedicated patrol deputy, but we can and must do more to make our roads safer. Enforcement only gets you so far, we need better road design. I want residents and visitors alike to experience Castle Pines as a safe, quiet, and relaxing place.
*NO CAMPAIGN DONATIONS FROM COMMERCIAL DEVELOPERS* - City Councillors should not owe favors to anyone who recently sued and could likely sue the City in the future.

Castle Pines needs more local, small-businesses not gas stations, fast food chains, and franchises.

WILDFIRE MITIGATION & READINESS
We are uniquely vulnerable to wildfire threats, but instead of looking away we need to meet that challenge head on to protect our families.

Meet Barrett
Barrett, his wife, and two daughters live in Skyline Ridge and have been residents of Douglas County for 10 years. The couple met while attending the University of Northern Colorado.
After earning his bachelor's degree, Barrett attended the University of Colorado's School of Public Affairs to obtain his Master of Public Administration degree. He also holds a graduate certificate from Colorado State University and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Barrett worked for 10 years at Kaiser Permanente in their national finance department. His family's distillery and restaurant began construction on a new facility in Dakota Ridge in early 2025, and he began transitioning out of his career in the healthcare industry in favor of eventually taking over the family business as it expands.
He has previously served on the Douglas County School District's Mill Bond Oversight Committee, was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to the Board of Social Work, and is a second generation Eagle Scout.
Barrett was one of several organizers for the Stop the Power Grab committee opposed to Home Rule in the June special election; he won a prospective seat on the proposed Home Rule Commission that voters, thankfully, did not ultimately approve.
When he's not at the distillery construction site or engaged in local policy, you can find him on the golf course, hiking trail, an F3 workout, or working toward his next Krav Maga test.
